The second World Industrialisation Congress returns to Cambridge
The World Industrialisation Congress (WIC) & Cambridge Industrialisation Annual Conference (CIAC) brings together scholars, practitioners and policy makers working on industrialisation. It is hosted by Cambridge Industrialisation, a University of Cambridge society, and held in Cambridge each year.
The inaugural congress in August 2026 was co-organised with Tsinghua University, Peking University, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and Hong Kong Metropolitan University. It saw the signing of the Global Industrialisation Initiative, the founding of the Global Industrialisation Star Award Committee, and 35 talks across five parallel forums.
WIC 2027 builds on that foundation. The theme, dates, venue details and call for abstracts will be published on this page as they are confirmed. If you would like to be told when they are, leave your details or join the Society.
